Teatum Jones is a clothing brand driven by their shared love of human stories, therefore the brief for the competition asks us to develop a small collection using a physical interaction as a starting point for the design development.
A long lost letter, from my great-grandmother to her daughter, found hidden in one of my grandparent's photo albums, triggered the trail of my design conception.
The letter talks about my Nanny Marion when she was young and was always making clothes for herself out of her fathers workwear, and anything else she could get her hands on.
I used their old photographers to inspire the shape and style of my Spring/Summer collection and I developed my prints from objects found around their house; such as the adverts in the back of an old cookbook, jars full of mis-matched buttons and collections of stamps.
